End Fortress and MC Hardcore update
Lag is a terrible thing. I was doing fairly well until I fell into a cavern and was ambushed by creepers and lag. That basically is the end of hardcore for at least a month - there's just too much paranoia and caution for a regular build. However, I have another creation to show off - the End Fortress. Basically it's the utilization of the obsidian towers used to hold the end crystals with the ender dragon boss. Basically took that and made them into a series of structures all linked. Last addition was a throne room. All in all very nice. Something I might want to start working on is an arcology structure - which in a sense is a human habitat system. Best example would be a city inside of buildings. With enough time, this will make my other creations look feeble in comparison.

Minecraft Hardcore!
Saw FyreUK's hardcore mode start, so decided on doing one myself. Used world seed (flat), which ironically enough creates mountainous areas. I made a base around these two pillars - digging into the first one. I was lucky enough to spawn near giant chicken areas, but unlucky in that I could not find any sheep anywhere. I got to around 35 chicken, but then decided to try wheat farming. Below is the result:
The farm feels like an aeroponic farm, which is growing plants via air. I love the idea of the farm being suspended in the air. I plan on adding some fences around the area to prevent nasty falls. Usually I'd be less worried about damage and food, but hardcore means that on death, you lose all progress. It's why I like blogging these items, so that I keep blueprints of sorts on good techniques. For instance, there are water blocks every 4 to keep the farmland hydrated, which yields faster wheat. The produce is a WHOPPING 161 wheat that nicely crafts into 53 bread. Unlimited food is good as it allows me to focus on other aspects of the house and hardcore environment without worrying about food.

Starcraft Battlecruiser
Model of Battlecruiser from Starcraft. Has two sets of opening underside bay doors in the front and near the engine area. Originally I was using Dokucrfaft texture - hence the iron looks the greyish color of the battlecruiser. However when I switched back to default, the iron blocks are white. No matter, I was still satisfied with the result. This model went through a bit of griefing as engine area was blown up a couple of times.
Memory Skyscraper - Kingdom Hearts II
Build of the famous skyscraper from Kingdom Hearts II. Replicating the TV system on the top of the skyscraper was challenging. I went with Diamond for the screen and other wool blocks for the other colors. This is mainly a decoration as the interior is mainly empty. Then again, in the game, the outdoor setting is used as the battleground for one of the final bosses (SPOILERS.) But then again, if you haven't played KHII by now you've probably seen this. Seriously, the game is 6 years old. If you like a game with an amazing story and fast paced anime style combat - buy this game. I bet it's fairly cheap nowadays.
Minecraft Creation 1
I'm starting a new series - minecraft creations. This was something I made on my friend's creative server. I based the idea on Skytown from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Currently the there are three main wings - Landing pad and bedroom, Library, and a shrine. The shrine was in progress at the time of this picture. The library is the largest building - it has a spiral staircase with bookshelves surrounding the walls. This idea is borrowed from the Seattle Central Library's book spiral. All in all, a lengthy but enjoyable build.
Resume watermark
I got this idea from another sample graphic designer resume. Ryan Gilden (www.ryangilden.com) used a light and transparent watermark in the background of his resume. I liked the idea - so I created one of my own. Pretty simple to do, though the refining took a little bit of time. The tools I used were the maple leaf brush to give the rough feel as well as the regular brush for the outline. When I added it- the watermark puts it in the center and makes it smaller, so I kept it as a background image - made it a little transparent.
